Gusta works with companies that understand design as a driver of business results and genuinely care about the experience they're creating for the people using their products or visiting their website. That includes funded startups building their first product, scale-ups that have outgrown their current design, and established companies that need a dedicated creative partner without expanding their internal team. We work with businesses and organizations of all sizes, from family businesses to large, well-known brands. We're based in Valencia and work internationally, with a strong presence in Spain and the Netherlands, the rest of Europe, and the US. In terms of how we typically get involved: some clients come to us directly to design their product, website, or brand, and we find a development partner suited to the project if needed. Others bring us into an existing team, working closely alongside their internal designers, developers, or product people. And sometimes we partner with development agencies, design studios, or other specialists who need a design partner for a client project.

The clients we work best with come with a real business challenge and enough trust to let us bring our thinking to the table. That doesn't mean having everything figured out before reaching out. It means being open to a genuine back-and-forth, where we question assumptions together and work toward something better. In practice, that looks like clear communication, honesty on both sides, accessible decision-makers, and shared expectation management throughout. We'll always tell you what we think, and we expect the same in return. We regularly work with founders, product leads, CTOs, marketing directors, and in-house teams. Whoever is closest to the work tends to become our main point of contact, and that's usually where the best collaboration happens. Something we've learned over the years: the best outcomes rarely come from just executing a list of requirements. The thinking that happens along the way, challenging assumptions, exploring directions, asking why, is often where the real value is found. Clients who get that tend to get the most out of working with us. The values we hold closest are curiosity, clarity, and collaboration. They shape how we work internally and how we show up for the people we work with. If those resonate, we're probably a good fit.

Is there a type of client or project that isn't a good fit?

If design is seen as a final layer of polish to make things pretty rather than something worth involving early, we're probably not the right fit. The same goes if the priority is speed and lowest cost above everything else, or if there's little openness to being challenged. The work goes best when there's genuine belief in what good design can do for a business and the people it serves. If you're looking for someone to just execute what's already been decided, we're not your team. We're honest about this from the start. If we don't think we're the right match for what you need, we'll say so.

Why work with a studio rather than a large agency?

At a large agency, the team that wins your business is rarely the team that does the work. You often get pitched by senior people and handed to juniors. Decisions typically pass through layers of account management before they reach the people actually designing. That distance costs time, and it usually shows in the work. At Gusta, you work directly with the people doing the design, from the first conversation to the final delivery. Our founders, Kevin and Mar, are closely involved in every project. Not as figureheads, but as active contributors to the thinking and the work. Being purposely small means we're genuinely flexible. We don't impose rigid frameworks or processes that exist for our convenience rather than yours. We adapt to what the project actually needs, move fast when speed matters, and stay focused on the challenge at hand rather than managing internal structures. That directness also means clearer communication, faster decisions, and a relationship that feels more like a partnership than a service transaction.
